David L. Hunt, PhD
Personal Statement

My research program is focused on providing mechanistic explanations at the cellular and circuit levels for cognitive functions such as learning and memory. Moreover, we seek to understand how basic physiological processes are corrupted in pathological states and neurological disorders. We primarily utilize electrophysiology, optogenetics and computational methods, in addition to a wide range of other techniques in human brain tissue (ex vivo) and rodents (in vivo) to interrogate mnemonic function in cortical circuits."
