Lab Members

Sarah Fett received her bachelor’s degree from UCLA, where she majored in microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics. At UCLA, her research consisted of isolating and characterizing novel bacteriophages from California soil samples and performing comparative genomic analyses to further understand bacteriophages and their genomes. In the Wolf Laboratory, Sarah is currently studying the role that the metabolic enzyme hexokinase plays in the innate inflammatory response to gram-positive bacteria.

Jessica Ramadhin, PhD, received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She earned her doctorate in infectious diseases at the University of Georgia, where she investigated the anti-inflammatory properties of two human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), lacto-N-fucopentaose III (LNFPIII) and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT), in models of diet-induced obesity and diabetes. In the Wolf Lab, her current research focuses on the importance of innate immune cell glycolysis during bacterial sensing in a rodent model of colitis.

Ben Wong received his bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where he majored in neuroscience and environmental studies. At Bowdoin, his research included a neuroscience honors project that investigated the physiological effects of novel endogenous peptide hormones on the American lobster (H. americanus) stomatogastric nervous system. In the Wolf Laboratory, Ben currently helps explore the mechanisms underlying phagocyte-driven innate immune signaling in response to gram-positive bacteria. Specifically, he is researching interactions between metabolism and innate immune recognition of bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan.
