The mission of the Cedars-Sinai Advanced GI MIS/Bariatric Surgery Fellowship is to produce leaders in the field of advanced gastrointestinal (GI), minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and bariatric surgery who will, through exceptional skill, a defined knowledge base, research and teaching ability, contribute to excellent patient outcomes and furthering our understanding of gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases.
We focus on achieving our mission through exposure to experienced, accomplished and active members of the national surgical community. Through this experienced faculty, we aim to introduce fellows to innovative approaches to surgical disease based on established evidence and innovative programs being developed at Cedars-Sinai through clinical trials and research.
Our fellowship is distinguished by its long track record of producing productive and successful fellows since 1993. This record allows for a mature educational and experiential process to prepare fellows for working in both academic and private practice settings upon completion of their training, with ample opportunities for networking and mentorship throughout a surgeon's career.
