PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency

The purpose of the Cedars-Sinai accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes, to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. Residents achieve professional and clinical competence serving as members of a multidisciplinary health care team providing direct patient care to a variety of patient populations during clinical rotations in inpatient practice, drug distribution, pharmacy management and other elective rotations. Residents will develop teaching skills through in-services to the healthcare team and patients. They will exercise leadership in improving the safety of the medication use system and develop problem solving skills through participation in departmental and organizational initiatives. Residents will develop a commitment to life-long learning and professional practice.
