Sponsored Research and Funds Administration

The Office of Sponsored Research and Funds Administration (SRFA) provides Cedars-Sinai researchers with a full range of grant and contract administration and financial support. The team consists of grant and contract officers and research financial administrators who are experts in grant applications, proposal development, contract negotiation, expenditure review and financial closeout from sponsors such as the National Institutes of Health and the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine.

The SRFA team's services include:

  • Providing review and institutional approval of all sponsored research proposals
  • Acting as advocate and liaison with federal agencies, corporate sponsors, nonprofit organizations and subaward partners
  • Conducting contract negotiations
  • Assisting in clinical trial negotiations and administration
  • Providing sponsor billing and financial report preparation
  • Providing financial portfolio management
  • Administering time and effort system
  • Assisting in closeout of research projects
  • Providing compliance oversight in the areas of sponsor regulations, financial conflict of interest and export controls
  • Offering training and education in research administration and compliance
