Baloh Lab
Neurodegenerative Diseases
Led by Robert Baloh, MD, PhD, the Neurodegenerative Diseases Laboratory's goal is to understand mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and peripheral neuropathy using human disease genes as our guide, in an effort to develop effective treatments for these disorders.
The Baloh Laboratory is affiliated with the Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute, Center for Neural Science and Medicine and the Department of Neurology.
- Investigations Into ALS and Frontotemporal Dementia
- The Role of C9ORF72 Hexanucleotide Expansion in ALS and FTD
- TDP-43 — An ALS Disease Gene That Forms the Characteristic Protein Aggregates in ALS/FTLD
- Investigations Into Peripheral Nerve Degeneration
- Human iPSC Modeling and Therapeutics for Degenerative Peripheral Nerve Disease
- Role of Mitochondrial Dynamics (Fusion, Fission and Movement of Mitochondria) in Neurodegeneration
